Mob Psycho 100: Episode 3 Review | An Invitation To A Meeting

This is my review of Mob Psycho 100: Episode 3! It’s a manga series written and illustrated by One. Studio Bones produced the anime adaptation. After the dip of the second episode, this episode seems promising and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Simply Put, I just want to be popular

In this episode Mob starts training with the Body Improvement club, but he collapsed halfway. The Telepathy Club had arrived at a truce with the Body Improvement Club, since the latter only needed club room to store equipment. Mob talked with Tome Kurata about how he wants to be popular.

Going home, a woman in a mask stops him and asks him about every possible trouble he could be having. Mob follows her to a religious meeting of LOL. He is introduced to Dimple, the cult leader and finds his classmate Ichi Mezato there too. Dimple seems to be using hypnosis to brainwash everyone into laughing and Ichi wants to expose that he is running a cult for her newspaper. Mob is unaffected by Dimple’s trick. He wants to leave but because of his love of milk he accepts Dimple’s challenge to make each other laugh.

An Invite To A Meeting

Dimple tries all sort of tricks, which made Mob spit his milk out and then accuse him of laughing. Annoyed, Mob releases psychic energy and temporarily release everyone from hypnosis. Mob explains that even if he wants to he couldn’t laugh which make Dimple mock him saying he will never share emotions with others and would be forever alone. This makes Mob rage and the percentage towards Mob explosion reach 100%.

Dimple, an evil spirit identified by Mob tries to make people hold Mob down, however Mob easily defeats him. Later that night, he talks to Arataka Reigen about how he feels that he needlessly spoiled the fun of everyone. Arataka clears his doubt and tells him that Mob saved them from the manipulative cult. People come to their senses at LOL and deem Mob as their messiah. Next morning, Mob wakes up to find weakened Dimple greeting him in his room.

Personal Opinion of Mob Psycho 100: Episode 3

This episode was stand out to me, easily top tier. Some of the smallest things that I loved was that the Telepathy Club didn’t disbanded. I was already attached to the chill dynamic of Telepathy Club members. I liked that Body Building club are very friendly, from carrying Mob back to club room to allowing the Telepathy club to use the room because they just need it to store equipment is so good.

The newest character, who I am assuming would be major in the series, Ichi Mezato is very interesting too. I am very intrigued by her role and what she might think after witnessing first hand the extent of Mob’s powers. Would she keep it on downlow? Or would she publish about his deed?

Art style was always fluid and I will never NOT rave about it. It’s dynamic and interesting and is like a breathe of fresh air in anime community as a whole. Overall, one of the best episodes I have seen so far in Mob Psycho 100.

Highlight Of Mob Psycho 100: Episode 3

You should know what the highlight is, I am very basic when it comes down to action in Shonen. Absolutely adored how Mob finally got to 100% and exploded in rage. Him beating the crap out of the evil spirit was very fun. I enjoyed every second of his rage because of how good it was seeing him finally show emotions. His actions and rage was justified and seeing him annihilate Dimple was very satisfactory.

Lowest Point of Mob Psycho 100: Episode 3

This was the episode where nothing too bad stood out to me. Only thing I can think of is the long conversation between Dimple and Ichi. They talked for quite a while, but I think it’s more necessary poision than anything to fret over.

Everything from the pacing to the fight was well balanced so the only place it felt a bit dragged on was the dialogue or the backstory of the homeless man. Again, it is a necessary poison.

Overall Rating of Mob Psycho 100: Episode 3

8.5/10 it was amazing. I was very tempted to give it a 9, but let’s be honest we are three episode in. I am having way too much fun watching the show, and I hope the next episodes keep the momentum on. Well, these are all my thoughts on the Mob Psycho 100: Episode 2. Please tell me if you agree or disagree and what part of the show gripped you the most! Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!
